Drone Roof Inspections in South Florida
What a drone roof inspection documents
When a drone inspection makes sense
Some roofs should not be walked - steep pitches, fragile tile, and storm-damaged surfaces can be unsafe for an inspector and can be damaged further by foot traffic. A drone roof inspection puts a high-resolution camera over every slope, ridge, and valley without a single step on the roof itself. At 4 Eyes Home Inspections LLC, your drone pilot is also your licensed home inspector: Henry Barrios holds an FAA Part 107 commercial drone license, so the person reading the images is the same professional who inspects the rest of your home.
• Roof covering condition across every slope - cracked, slipped, or missing tile or shingles
• Valleys, ridges, hips, and flashing points where leaks begin
• Storm and wind damage documentation for insurance claims
• Debris, ponding, and wear patterns on flat and low-slope sections
• High-resolution photos included in your report, timestamped and organized by slope
When a drone inspection makes sense
• Tile or metal roofs that can crack or dent under foot traffic
• Steep or two-story roofs where walking is unsafe
• After a hurricane or major storm, to document damage quickly and safely
• As part of a 4-Point or roof certification, when the roof cannot be walked
• For sellers and agents who need clear roof condition documentation before listing
An honest note on drones
A drone sees the roof surface in detail, but it does not replace the attic. Whenever the attic is accessible, we inspect from inside as well - that is where leaks, deck condition, and roof-to-wall connections are verified. The strongest roof documentation combines both, and your report says plainly which method was used and why.
How it works
1. Call, text, or book online - tell us the roof type and the reason for the inspection.
2. We fly the roof under FAA Part 107 rules and inspect the rest of the property as scoped.
3. You receive a photo-documented Spectora report the same day in most cases.
Frequently asked questions
Is your drone work licensed?
Yes. Commercial drone flights for inspections require an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate, which Henry Barrios holds. We fly legally, insured, and within all airspace rules.
Can a drone inspection be used for insurance?
Yes - drone photos are routinely included in our 4-Point and roof certification documentation when a roof cannot be walked safely. If your insurer has specific photo requirements, tell us and we will capture to them.
What if weather prevents flying?
High wind or rain can ground a drone. If that happens on your inspection day, we reschedule the flight portion promptly - safety and image quality come first.
